Bostik, a manufacturer of adhesives and sealants, has released its newest product Bostik Climb, a non-sag, easy gunning, single-component adhesive specifically developed for installers of hardwood floors, staircases and wall coverings. Bostik Climb offers convenient application with non-sag, and superior green grab (grab strength while wet) properties, according to the company. While it will be well-suited to flooring installation, it will be particularly helpful in vertical installations such as walls and stairs. Bostik reports that the flexibility of the solvent-free, low VOC, and low odor adhesive allows it to expand and contract with the wood substrate, and it helps reduce stair-squeaking and minimizes the sound of footsteps on stairs as well. Climb is versatile and can be used on a broad range of substrates including solid or engineered hardwood or bamboo installed on plywood, OSB, or existing wood floor treads and risers, or drywall (gypsum panels), brick, cinderblock, or concrete for interior walls. Additionally, the adhesive does not bond with most finishes on pre-finished hardwood, tread caps or risers, making it easy to remove from the finish even after cure.
