Pressure sensitive adhesive product manufacturer Mactac Americas, LLC was acquired by Tokyo-based adhesive products manufacturer Lintec Corporation. The acquisition covers Mactac’s production facilities and markets in North America and Mexico. Mactac’s European operation was sold to Avery Dennison in August, 2016. Mactac provides materials to the packaging, label printing, graphic design, retail display, fleet graphics, digital imaging, automotive and medical device industries. Lintec says it will maintain current manufacturing and distribution activities in the North American market, and it is particularly pleased with the adhesion formulas and high-speed coating technologies acquired as part of the transaction. Besides, Lintec will take over a strong brand with an extensive existing market. Lintec Corporation specialized in film-based products before the transaction, but it will add paper-based products to its portfolio with the acquisition of Mactac.
